• Harald's Second Supper & launch of community building appeal- JUNE 7

•Find out more about the building project and why Harald's House will make such a difference to kids who have no home and no hope for the future in their current circumstances. Tickets cost $55/tables of 10 for $500. For bookings, phone Brothers Leagues Club on 4053 1053.

• 2008 Calanna Rotary Duck Race-SEPTEMBER 20

•In recent years the Rotary Club's annual Duck Race has grown to become the jewel in the crown of Festival Cairns. Thousands of people join the fun and festivities on the Cairns Esplanade from 1pm for a quackin' good time in the build up to the grand finale, parade and fireworks.

The main duck race takes place at 4pm and should not be missed! Keep an eye out around town to purchase your very own duck or to register your business in this year's Corporate Duck Race, contact coordinator Sally Dixon on 0412 412 989.

• Combined Car Clubs 'Cairns Swap Meet Car & Bike Show'-AUGUST 3

•Motorheads, bargain hunters and car enthusiasts of any kind will love the concept of a Swap Meet. Admission is only $3. Come along to the Cairns Showgrounds to buy, sell, swap or look at the many stalls and vehicles on display. For more information contact Bruce Nancarrow on 4038 1415.
